Epilogue

Epilogue

A Poem by Partha
"

I remember, I remember everything.

"

I remember you said life is a song

I wrote all those songs about us and the spring

Never had I thought that one day will come

When the lines of those songs will give me such sting.

I remembered you said life is a sea

I cannot swim I have told you before

But you allured me to jump into the blue

And when I drowned you were standing on the shore.

I remember you said life is a road

I waved you my hand said wait for me please

You kept on walking as if no one was there

Did not turn around to see I was on my knees.

I remember you said life is a dream

My presence you don’t see maybe that’s why

You went to sleep the day you were born

I want to know will you wake up when you die?

Wow those two final lines are a killers for sure Partha! fabulous work, runs as smoothly as your journey through lifes strife, people reassure us along the route, just to keep us moving forward in some cases, because life ain't easy, but as those lines state so dynamically, especially when you are asleep for most of it. Great work, a fav for Tai

Partha,

I liked your poem, specially the 3rd para.

May i use this as a quote at appropriate place ? With acknowledgment of course !

Best wishes.

I loved the metaphors you use in painting your amazing image of love lost. There are many strong lines in this poem but these ,i think, are my favorite.

But you allured me to jump into the blue

And when I drowned you were standing on the shore.

Great work !!

I agree with both Tai chi and Caffeine about this strong composition... I found it very thoughtful and deep indeed with that sense of "Philosophy of Life" somewhere hidden in your words ..which are so full of wisdom!
The way you quoted every stanza with "I remember you....." is great and is imparting a great flow in it..
Overall, it is a great piece of writing! I kind of loved it :)

I went through this many times. Each stanza is powerful in itself, creating very strong images.
The first stanza reminded me of some songs that I have happened to interpret differently during different times in life.
I can relate the second one to a personal experience. It brought to mind a conversation from the past.
Although the meaning gets conveyed in the third stanza, I think the following line can be presented better.
I waved you my hand said wait for me please
The last one, I agree with Tai is a killer.

It is a tragedy when the one you love is indifferent to your feelings, the one you can give your life for doesn't notice when you die...

Excellent composition.
