I feel her like lightning in my bones

I feel her like lightning in my bones

A Poem by Tyler Hipple
"

For a friend

"
She is the coastline
A wonderful orchestra of high tide symphonies
Oh she is not one mountain, but three
Standing together miles through the atmosphere
Her breath, the peaceful babble of the creeks
The peaceful music of unexplored woods
She is the ice
Strong but vulnerable
Her heart, a thousand lions
Forgive me, lionesses
All roaring to her other half
The stars, the night sky herself
They would make glorious, silent music in staring at each other
Her mind is the bottom of a deep pond
Overgrown, a mess of memories and moments all mixed into one
She is a flower curled up like a fist protesting death
And I am proud
