Can you just pretend
Pretend like old times ? The cold winter nights Warmed by the heat Of our promising love And unending passion, Nights of laughter Stealing glances And winklessly Looking at each other The way people Look at Monalisa In the great hallways of Louvre, All flash in front of me Like the slow Mo A deadman sees. Precious But stinking. From as certain As the sunrise tomorrow To as uncertain As the stray dog looks for food In the roads of mogadishu, I saw my reality being a hoax. Like a vegetative state The sensations and the love Became pointless but Carrying history, History of a grand charade. I question myself Was our love Just another charade to you Like the ones David Copperfield pulls off Perfect but illusion Created for muse Destined to diffuse In the greater oblivion. What do you call it? Love or another Roundabout in a beautiful alley, Enjoyed for the time being Nothing constant it actually is. Did you love me In all true sense love means? On rainy days,it strikes me like thunder I keep on lamenting How pathetically I made blunder. How relentlessly I slander Did you even love me? Echoes on the walls of memory lane Unanswered smirking on me How petty can you be ? But can you just pretend Pretend like old times? © 2021 ParsaReviews
