The female protagonist is supposed to be Eurasian (ethnicity) but it's obvious she's just American playing an Eurasian.

This is a beautiful free verse expression of an observation. There's a good flow of ideas here.

"Love is a many splendored thing" has a rhythm to it because its 0/0/0/0/ 0 being a non-accent and / being an accent. It's also the beginning of a well known song. Adding ed to splendor isn't legal, but its done anyhow instead of saying splendorous.
