The child in everyone

The child in everyone

A Poem by ParkerTheWriter

When I walk down the street,
or when I'm sitting in a restaurant to eat,
I take notice of the people around me..

As I look around,
whether smile or frown,
I see a child in anyone.

The way they play with their food,
how they walk or run,
There is a child in everyone.

The way they laugh, the way they giggle,
the stories they want to share,
whether straight forward, or in a riddle,
I try not to stare,

I see the child in everyone.

When I go to the store, I wonder what clerk was like as a child,
either playing on the playground, or at home doing their homework,

When I see a man in a suit and a tie,
I really see a boy that might have been quite shy,

When I see a woman looking into the night sky,
I really see a girl still dreaming of what it would be like to fly,

Appreciate the people around you, because they can teach you a lot about yourself,
Maybe they like to play sports, or read books about an elf,

Realize that it isn't hazardous to be yourself,
Whether you're a child, an adult or an elf.

About
I enjoy reading philosophy. It's become one of my favorite reading materials. I'm very politically minded, often thinking of the faults and f**k ups of the world rather than the positive things in fro.. more..
