ReflectionA Poem by West...
I saw him in the mirror
a reflection of myself a man before my yesterdays a boy before he fell he cried, but knew not heartbreak he loved, but knew not how he lost, but bore no losses he screamed, but made no sound impotent, his innocence, bigger than his frame no shadow cast beneath him no doubt to on him weigh the contours of my face betray the many lessons learned the furrow of my brow cut deep, a few unlucky turns and I don’t know who I was sadder for did I weep for me or him? me, for the many things I’ve lost or him, for having them? © 2011 West |
