![]() Glass Light Pt.2A Poem by Maame Yeboah![]() I read deeper into him, awaiting if my thoughts on him are accurate. I feel closer to him as I get closer into revealing the glass light.![]() He sits across the room victimized by
askew fame. Steel crowns his heart as it grows weary. It phases into
embarrassment. He is antagonized. He acts alone, providing himself with the
service of his own heroism. Left to be rescued, he breaks. Agony is rushed upon
him, burying him deep. ...Yet he smiles. I scan him. I try to puzzle him
together, but a piece is missing. Distress. The source of affliction conquers
yet another. Built by secrecy, noise is his destruction. His voice mimics the
cries of whirling winds. Desperation. Misery. He fights the same battle we all
demolish. His screams over shadow his aches. Is his heart reluctant to trust?
Why is he to blame? For he is drenched in pressure. He is enticing. I crave
him. I shake, tempted not by fear, but by desire. I want him. Embrace me.
Rescue me. I can no longer chain my heart to the cusps of denial. His surface
shelters. He is undefined. His defense is hidden. He relies on faith to drown
the arising opinions of others. Why do you hide? Your actions are faint, but
what you symbolize is clear. You are electrifying. You are Magic. © 2015 Maame Yeboah |
