![]() Glass LightA Poem by Maame Yeboah![]() my perspective vs. Society's views on him. Ever so often we tend to focus on appearance and doubt what lies within others due to their status.![]()
He sits across the room masked by doubt. He is misunderstood. Deception isolates him from society’s “image”. The same “image” that may emerge one’s heart in sorrow. The light doesn’t seem to shine on his hemisphere. Why so? His potential is measured by choice. His appearance suits not many, nor most; but not because he is unattractive, but it is labeled as so by others. He speaks with such power, making sure to emphasize precisely. He is brilliant. His expressions are the opposite of what is exposed. Every word that lingers off his lips does something to me. He makes me feel strong. I think harder than I should. I read into him. I search. I find what others have the capability to do, but decide not to. My desires rage. Not by intimacy, but by joy for him. I may not understand him, but I try to. His words, spoken, are spoken ever so cautiously. Hesitation, much like the horizon, deters. Fall in love, I deny. Is his touch Magic? Is the quivering sensation of his touch delicate? Minor. I want to get to know him for who he is. For people are often led on by the perception. They feed off the opinions of others. His eyes fulfill delight. Oh so wonderful. What pain it would be for tears to flood them. But he feels too. He aches. He breathes. He loves. He laughs. He smiles. And his smile, my, his smile is fascinating. It is quite a spectacular scene. Is he hurt? You can’t read him that easy. He encases himself with mystery close by his side. You see, he is very much so, heart-like. He makes me feel, pretty. I want to find you. As I stood within range of him, I noticed something about myself; which I have not really paid much attention to. I felt insecurely secure. Radiant. He looks at me. I gaze elsewhere. Dear kind sir, someone within a billion daydreams about you. Someone within a billion thinks of you. Cares for you… Wants to find you.. Can you show me who you are? For I think, I might have found you.
