Dress

Dress

A Story by Kathryn Smith

Our secret moments in a crowded room
They've got no idea
About me and you
All of the silence and patience
Pining and anticipation
I'm desperately waiting...

I only bought this dress

So you could take it off

The worst place to want someone is in church.

I have a million dresses.

A million styles.

And 1 goal.

I feel eyes on me.

We stand there in silence.

I sit trying not to look.

He kneels with a strategic gaze.

I pretend I don't know he's looking.

Straight.

At.

My.

Body.

His hungry eyes

Scan my lips.

I squirm trying to pray.

Putting on an acting face.

I'm innocent.

Holy.

But desperately

I want to run with him.

So he can peel off my dress.

Forces of attraction unite us.

Untie us.

The rest

is only

A test.

Time ticks away.

Who will break?
