Fall

Fall

A Poem by Kathryn Smith

Stained glass windows

Glitter

Glisten

Whisper

 Her heart

Racing

Soul

Trembling

She sits

Squirming

In her dresses

Lipstick on

Knowing

She is being

Watched

Admired

New love

Is

Cascading

Echoing

Among soft pink walls

Inside a brown bricked Church

On Fremont Street

His eyes

Drink her in

Embrace her wholly

And he prays

While

It  sneaks

And it revels

In the midst

Of strangers

Of eyes

Ears

Minds

No one knows

It floats

Across the balcony

Through the organ

The piano

The voices

The tabernacle

The Pastor

And in the sound of glory

He can feel it

She can hear it

In the hymns

The prayers

The songs they sing

This love has emerged

And it is sweet

True and good

For their love

Is holy

Oh but vibrating tunes afold the masking beauty, perhaps there was just one more word amiss the trembling lips, for if they not part, then words cant sit on those crescent lobes

A lovely, lively ecclesiastical poem that spills eloquently down the page with it's metaphor glowing.
