Marry MeA Story by Kathryn SmithWhile sitting in the car, I asked my father this question: "Do you think I'll ever get married dad?" Without skipping a beat he said yes. And then I asked: "What kind of person do you think I'll marry?" He replied: "A good strong Catholic man." He continued on about how it is what he hoped for me. I tested the waters and was silently horrified and heartbroken watching him squirm as I mentioned: Protestant men, Lutheran men, Baptist men, Jewish men, Atheist men, and oh the horror! Muslim men. My stomach sank a little. I want to make my father proud. I've no idea who I'm going to fall in love with. And I want to fall in love with whoever I want. Whoever ends up with me is going to be one hell of a man anyways. I want a man of empathy. Of compassion and humor. A man who knows how to look good. Who can take control in the sheets. A man who is humble but proud. Kind and honest. A man who is loyal. Someone who challenges me and makes me into a better person. I just want a man. I'm not going to care what religion he is. I just want to be loved. © 2017 Kathryn SmithReviews
