Dressing GownA Poem by Kathryn SmithWhen she slips on her dressing gown Her world is endowed with glory Gliding into a room She brings man to his knees And all eyes are pleased Running outside Deep in the night Her heart wanders through memories Slipping off her dress She shows cuts and bruises Naked she cries They say She was always quite pretty But how? How is it possible? She has never found true love? The cunningness of wolves Hidden in sheep's clothing Melt her like wax They howl and prowl Preyed upon She crashes down Light cast away Yet she gets back up And slips on her dressing gown She is of royal blood and royal skin And Queens hold their heads up high Knowing they are worthy Of a true King © 2017 Kathryn SmithReviews
