Storm

Storm

A Poem by Kathryn Smith

The wind whips and lashes out

Darkness creeps out on the horizon

In sync with timing

A perfect storm

Rising

She sits on her bed

Drinks in the sound

Wanders outside

Into the dark

And into the wood

Barefoot

She can't be found

Her soul glistens with the stars

Heart beating

Lost in the moon

Tonight she lets go

Her poetry

In another burial

And in the morning

She's a new woman

A new show

A blinding light

A force to be reckoned with

Just like the wind

Whipping and wailing

Mighty and strong
