What March Brings

What March Brings

A Story by Kathryn Smith

Sun grows stronger

Days get longer

Snow melts

Grass peaks

Windows open

Clovers bloom

I countdown in my bedroom

Cookbook read

Oven on

Father in the kitchen

Flour on the floor

The warm smell of soda bread

Fills the house in the morn

We rush and clean

Vacuum and dust

Get the house ready

Guests arrive at dusk

Far off in Galway

Eyes begin to twinkle

He grabs his fiddle

His 6 string

His banjo

Hop on a bus

Their jet takes off

White streaks the sky

We Banjo 3

Visits our town tonight

Music booms

We gather 'round

Irish bloodline proud

Stomping feet

Clapping hands

He shook me around

We play Jig Jam

Dervish

Kilkennys

The Script

Can't forget Davey or Mick

The men who made my heartbeat skip

Head held high

Eyes dart to the sky

Sun dips low

Here we go

Jameson and Guinness

Flavor and kisses

This is better than Christmas

 Better than birthdays

It's time for a party

It's time for a bash

Put your shoes on

Your paint on

Your luck on

You won't need any cash

Green White Orange

Come knock at our door

And we'll dance all night

Creating a firelight

Slainte to you

Slainte to me

We raise our glasses high

March brings Paddy's Day

And on Paddy's Day

Our spirit will never die

Such a wonderful flow of writing, start to finish! .
Meter fine, phrases really displaying the proud and happy blood coursing your veins! Could picture the romp of your goings-on, the places and people, the lively music and all. Loved it, do.
