What?A Story by Kathryn SmithIt is amusing to me how easily offended people can get. My mother and sister sat across from me in an ice cream shop. I was just educating you. I said giving a lopsided nervous smile. Suddenly they blew up. "Do you KNOW who I am!!?" "You're in AMERICA." "This is AMERICA Kathryn." So? That doesn't mean you can't learn and change something as simple as that. I replied. She shakes her finger in my face. And her eyes bulge out. Together, they resemble one of those overly intense and slightly dangerous shoppers on Black Friday. You know - the kind of people who get into fist fights over the deluxe television that was on sale. I try to reason with my mother and sister and explain my point..but.instead I hear more words hurling out: "Just leave it. She always wants to be superior" My mother huffs. I'm sorry. What? I was just explaining the difference between "Paddy and Patty." And how it's incorrect to say Patty's Day. I stare back at them with steam coming out of their ears. What? © 2017 Kathryn SmithReviews
