Happy BirthdayA Chapter by Kathryn SmithDear Jack, Today is your birthday! Happy Birthday. Your name popped up at the dinner table last night. My father still does not know who you are.. And my mother refers to you as just "one of my Ireland ramblings." After everything I have ever told them about you, it's kind of sad how that's how they see you. You're important to me, and you always will be. Even Brian the Dublin man, had to look you up when I asked about your statue. But fear not! There are still so many who recognize you and are beyond thankful for what you did. We have Heuston Station, and your bridge to name just a few of the many things that keep you alive. I was driving yesterday and I felt a shift in the air. A shift in my soul. I got that feeling that there was something or someone with me. It was peaceful and a happy feeling. It wouldn't surprise me if it were you, yourself. I'm wearing my Irish flag pin in honor of you today! Throughout these letters I have learned and grown leaps and bounds.
I know you are safe. I know you are well. You love me, too. This concludes my letters to you, Heuston. Your girl on earth Kathryn © 2017 Kathryn Smith |
