Lucky Charms

Lucky Charms

A Story by Kathryn Smith

What's the worst thing you've ever done?

His deep blue eyes sparkled as they looked into mine.

I took a deep breath as I held his hand walking in the rain.

The worst thing I've ever done...

One day, my mother surprised us by bringing home an enormous box of one of my favourite cereals; lucky charms.

I was really bored...so one night I got out small dish and a giant mixing bowl...

I dumped the entire box of lucky charms into the mixing bowl.

and one by one I picked out every single colorful marshmallow and placed them into the dish.

It took longer than I expected...

Finally...as every piece of sugary goodness was removed - I dumped the marshmallowless lucky charms back into the box.

and I put it in the cupboard.

He stared at me for a long time..and then he began to laugh like a hyeena.

I could see his two front teeth were missing.

His little British accent came out strong.

That's absolutely savage Kathryn!! Your mum must think you're rubbish!!

I laughed my arse orf.
Completely told with a straight face with more tongue in cheek than a blue whale.
That's why I laughed so much.
You're a narrator Kathryn, a born narrator!!
