![]() Bad BloodA Chapter by Kathryn Smithand you said you always had my back but how were we to know that these are the days that bind you together forever and these little things define you forever forever The other day while shopping with my friend, I spotted an old friend of mine walking towards me. My heart skipped a beat. My palms began to sweat. I quickly turned to my friend standing next to me and began chirping away to her. Suddenly there was a tap on my shoulder and a smiling face of the friend I was trying to avoid. How strange. This old friend was the kind of friend that had a good heart but was a very dark, unhappy and jaded person. I was her punching bag Her punches turned to cuts and she enjoyed to slice me down I began dating one of her best friends. He was like a brother to her. I made the mistake of not getting to know him before dating him and when I eventually finally had the courage to break up with him, she threatened me. If you break his heart We are no longer friends. Low and behold... She stopped talking to me and ended our friendship. She looked at me like a traitor or a criminal She talked behind my back and even made some other friends turn against me Back before when we hung out she enjoyed bringing up my wrongs and mistakes. They say you're supposed to cut out the people who bring you down in life.. so I did...it was hard..but I did. As I looked at her smiling face in Wal-Mart the other day it finally occurred to me that perhaps her bad blood against me has finally dried. If we're only ever looking back All this bad blood here wont you let it dry? it's been cold for years wont you let it lie? I don't want to hear about the bad blood anymore I don't want to hear you talk about it anymore © 2015 Kathryn Smith |
