Crazy RainA Poem by EveAh the 80's...Crazy Rain..We're doing the bump to Michael Jackson's Billy Jean... It's a different kind of Halloween and youth had us on the dance floor showing our asses on request, where the D.J. was dating my sister and acne was the only enemy and there was never enough hot pink lipstick in the bathroom basket at the bars, when Prince ruled Westheimer in a purple drag... on a Cyndi Lauper girl's night out at the corner Marriott; solar kisses at 2am at the local Red lights; teasing up the hair and you ... were the one... me and Huey Lewis were happy to be stuck with; in the hurricane's and crazy rains that always seemed to be racing against the winds; Antone subs on a summer bench where something of yours had to be touching mine. When cold showers were taken together instead of as a deterrent... crazy rain, crazy love... I look out the back yard and it looks like the Seregeti and there are no crazy rains, now, but there is a kind of crazy love of a different kind, that has exanded into many... and I smile... because you're still you...and you're... ...still there... ..
