The Doors of Sodom

The Doors of Sodom

A Poem by Eve

O...

such remorse; my Gomorrah,

whittled away to ancient gray;

whose loving pillar

was made to bloom in stones.

but for a glance...

in yester way,

of wicked hearts in harmony.

O... restless rhythm

my tireless symphony;

a merchant's pence

of reckless proximity.

O...heady scent;

sweet bloom of liberty

and I wanted you too,

to always remember;

in word and deed

this endless ache

of absence...

how it withers me

in ageless vine,

in lengths of wonder

and lingering hope.

O...and the time;

how she staggers me

with dagger cuts like rope

that swath black "X" 's

across my back,

betraying the doors of Sodom.
