Baggage

Baggage

A Poem by Eve
"

Eveyone has some

"

An echo.
of click- thumping empty
carousels of chastity,
and burning
conveyor belts.

Under a fluorescent
glare
stuffed with
f**k me looks.
My abandoned
baggage
packs a gun.
My own.
Armed and dangerous.
Innuendo
and tickets to
Nowhere;
Excerpt,
Lost and found,
Where he belongs;
Beside deserted
box cutters,
claim numbers,
and forgotten scrawl
on postcards that
wished he was here.

you leave the reader only to speculate and draw upon own conclusions as this powerfully
rendered, intense, passionately well thought out, metaphorically devised work reflecting
in essence what defines "baggage" refers to in meaning, depicting matters of the heart in
in the setting of broken dreams and turmoil, your words are completely transporting, vivid,
presice, a subtle, imposing image of trepidation, every line is written to be at heightened
intent, effective, draws the reader to depthful pondering, artistically surrendered. mike

This is excellent! I love the image of a tossed aside love, left to moulder among the "forgotten scrawl on postcards" in some place where time ticks away under flourescent light. I've had a few "tickets to nowhere" myself! Oh well, all a part of the journey, right? GREAT job!
