What Now?

What Now?

A Story by Parinita

You know when you had everything you could ever possibly wish for? Everything right there with you, by your side, in your arms, all yours. But then you throw everything away, all of it. For what? For a moment of passion. Now you want it all back. You go to its door and you scream and you yell and you howl. You pound on the door and you dig your nails so deep inside the wood, you can't even feel the blood flowing down your hands, staining your pale, silk dress. But there's no answer. You see a tiny yellow bulb flickering away through a single window, covered in layers and layers of dust and heartbreak. The window, broken. Broken by you. You try and you try but you can't un-break it, you can't fix it. The door never opens and you never get a response.
You sit outside the door, under the downpour. Your tears and blood washed away by the unseasonal January rains. And as you lie there, in the company of your hazardous thoughts, waiting to explode like dynamite, you ask yourself just one question, "what now?"

I don't know if I should leave it at a cliffhanger or write a sequel
