If I were to paint youA Poem by ParadigmIf I were to paint you, I’d paint you red At special times for different emotions, another hue You can be as fiery and determined As a searing bright meteorite Yet, you can be as wrathful and irritated As the most raging crimson You can be the profoundest burgundy for love Since you are such a loving thing Yet you can be the color of blood Full of pain and aching and so very acrimoniously messy If you were a sound, I’d hear you as the rain falling For the rain can be soothing and fun to run in Yet it can show the double meaning inside Of the tears sliding down your pale cheeks If you were a smell You’d probably be coffee Just because you can be so vibrantly happy And wake everybody up with your eager energy If you were an object, I’d see you as a balloon Because I’ve had so many pleasant memories with balloons Ones that bring a soft smile to spread across my face And they are amusing to possess and to play pretend with But balloons float away Distancing themselves from us into the cold blue sky Reaching for the stars While I stand alone on Earth Bored, hurt and left behind © 2013 ParadigmAuthor's Note
