Daybreak

Daybreak

A Poem by Shay

Day break pressed its iridescent face through a frosted window
Carefully illuminating God’s masterpiece wrapped in silken sheets
Chiseled features illuminated in a delicate dance of morning’s song
Weary ignorant eyes have never partaken in such innate exquisiteness

Sitting in silence a mere observer to the anomaly peacefully asleep
The smell of aromatic candles burned last night permeate the air
While smoke rings hover eerily like angelic halos in the dimly lit room
Just a subtle remembrance that will forever be laminated in nostalgia

Metaphysical notions resulting from omnipotent passion and lust
Opens Pandora’s pristine box of egotistical wicked gratifications
What if tomorrow doesn’t paint the canvas in such benevolent light?
This reality resembles precious dreams suppressed within heart’s desire

Fear has no prejudice in this scenario; it seeps through the levy erected;
It knocks indefatigably at the door with bloody knuckles and a smile
To lose this gift would surely be the vessel of one’s unfortunate demise
Fanatical insanity the reward for gambling with such an innocent silly heart

Still, within this dark wintry room there is warmth and sincerity beckoning
A whisper heard only by a lover inane enough to listen ever so intimately
A choice to make based on blind faith of another’s aptitude to love entirely
The question remains throughout the infatuation of this euphoric reverie

Outside bluebirds perform their early morning songs as if to give homage
Adorned with fervor they sing a symphony to an audience behind stained glass
Every melodic note speaks of a freedom found only by one’s courage
Its message appeals to yearning aspirations to find that in which is the absolute

Even through the innocence of light, fear exorcises shadows.
A whisper is now hostage to the ether; only infinity can grant the answer as the birds have ceased to sing

Now, Morning Sun stretches out adoring arms, filling our room with her radiance;
Her long fingers’ caress brings a glow to skin, still glistening from my night ministrations Exposed, relaxed, at peace, rising and falling " gentle now after the night’s urgency.
Rest; sleep now my love; there will be other such mornings, but tonight - - -Ahhh! Tonight - - -
- - - Is soon to come.

Lyricism under the lash. Stolen moments of sensual grace watched over by a tower of suppressed bitter judgment.

"egotistical wicked gratifications," "Fear has no prejudice," "Fanatical insanity the reward" startle the love nest w/an eye to the secret sky of implacable blackhawks fond of baby bluebird meat.

The strange gnarl, the bent eloquence of this poem speaks of a divided heart, for whom "Daybreak" signals a heartache broken spell, as much as a hopeful sunrise paralleling silk-caressed skin.

Pandora's box is of confinement and escape. There's a tragic tension of bold desire over against enchained devotion to duty.

Ultimately, Love is more than entrained propriety and care vs. illicit pleasure-fire.

It is Freedom Itself, fearless. It raises its own frequency to light the contradictory way between compartmentalizations of life experience.

Regardless of structural decisions, its Realized Heart stays above the fray -- true "Daybreak."
