Kiss goodnightA Story by MaddyThis is a... short story I wrote a somewhat long time ago. It's about two teenagers around 17 planning to runnaway. She sneaks out of her starlight window in a hush,
a hurry to meet her love. He is waiting for her below, ready for tonight. He
lets a grin creep on his face while watching her shimmy down the wall and land
with a soft thump on the ground. “You’ve gotten good at that.” He remarks as she
appears into better view. He opens his arm to her, wanting to feel her warmth
on the cold November night. Her soft red hair smells of roses, he finds this
amusing as she is a Lily. “I missed you so much.” She breathes into his
shirt, savoring his scent. She always loved that smell, the smell of Axe and
honey. “I missed you more.” He grins into her hair.
“Lily, let’s go. I can’t wait to leave.” He says gently pushing her toward the
car parked down the street. He looks at his watch, 12:43. “Thomas. I can’t.” she says pulling away from the
warmth of his sweatshirt. She hugs herself and sighs. “Lily?” “Thomas, just one more night…? And then we will
leave… and never come back. Okay?” She fights to hold back tears. Thomas steps
closer beckoning her in again. “I just want one more day with Mama and Papa… is
that okay?” he hugged her tighter when she said this. He grinned down at the
crying girl and smiled. “We will meet here tomorrow night at twelve. We
will run away and start planning our life.” “Our future… our kids.” She smiled. He kissed her
and fled. They would tomorrow night, and until all she had
left was a kiss goodnight. © 2012 Maddy |
