In Falling Rain...

In Falling Rain...

A Poem by Schlechter Kornwurm
"

the travesty of neglect..

"

alone.....

standing alone, watching
the geese go home, alone
with the streetlight as my umbrella
standing alone

glazed eyes over, ice
glaring at the romance, lovers
in rain drenched clothes
standing alone, wet
in tear drenched clothes, low

girls in cars, drive
shallow humor, in flows
i smile, unabashed
yet in sorrow, i
stand still alone

blinding lights, flashing
beckoning, closer
out from my shelter, walk
hands buried in pockets, deep
voices blurred in drunken, stupor
i answer, nothing

give, they beckon
in rags i stand before, riches
dirty bills flash, no

angered voices, in outcries
doors open, more anger
more lies, in bloodshot eyes
pushed back under, sheltered again
cold steel, flitters by

complete, deprived
glazed eyes over, flacid
once again, gazing
one last gaze, consumed
my last stand,

alone....
