End of the lineA Poem by Paper Dolldunno what to say, it was a weird time for me
Dangling here from this nylon
My feet swinging above the chair I had to climb on There's a roaring in my ears it feels like there's blood in my tears I swear there's an ocean in my head it's waves pounding on the shores of my brain my body seems like lead and I try to refrain from thinking about what I was told as a kid about Hell and mortal sins so from God's eye I feel hid all I can see is the way the devil grins as the darkness covers my vision I'm wrenched through this sudden transition I think my lungs are filled with fire I'm thrown sideways to the squeal of a tire the blare of sirens washes over me voices pecking at me like vultures my limbs so stiff they feel like sculptures my vision comes back like a whip's crack white and metal and the faces of nervous people I beheld the Rod of Asclepius and am filled with wariness I didn't think an ambulance would take me to Hell. © 2010 Paper Doll |
