Spectral Poem

Spectral Poem

A Poem by Paper Doll
"

From high school, I have no idea where it came from.

"

Candlelight
wan and red
hardly lit the room
The scent
burning tallow

Charred and carved
the wooden table
bespoke
decades of use

The parchment
wrinkled and old
sat on the table

Writing filled the page
thin and spidery

The written poem
whispered through the air

on spectral voices

Kind of like Frankenstein creating his monster. It will come to life one way or another. Very good. Like the feel of it.
