The Ballroom of my MindA Poem by Willow RobertsonA poem I wrote based on the three prompts, dancing, pitch black darkness, and the smell of lilacs.
The soft sound of music floats down the hall
It catches me gently, lifting me It ensnares my mind, and all I can think of is the music My feet move to it Softly I sway In the pitch black darkness Of the ballroom in my mind I dance on the wind as it carries me Higher and higher Until the world below me fades away And I'm left alone with the music In the pitch black darkness Of the ballroom in my mind I wear a gown made of roses My hair is braided with lilacs My jewelry is made of stars And I dance to the music as the smell fills the emptiness In the pitch black darkness Of the ballroom in my mind I waltz on the wind And I am dipped by my partner A man made of obsidian His clothes of silver And his gold eyes gleam In the pitch black darkness Of the ballroom in my mind
