Old ToysA Poem by Willow RobertsonA poem I wrote for my creative writing class. Please readAn empty bookshelf Covered in dust Stuffed full Of old toys Limp Jack-in-the-Boxes Smiling, springs broken Worn stuffed animals Seams split in two Picture books Once so bright and colorful Now dim and drained Of all light and all love The toys lie there, abandoned The room they live in Is empty and lonely No child has been there in years A dirty window across from the shelf Sunlight streams through Illuminating dust motes That are suspended in air Old toys Lying there Abandoned, forgotten And covered in dust © 2015 Willow RobertsonAuthor's Note
