Pretending

Pretending

A Poem by SwagMaster

When I was little I pretended
I was a fairy
That had magic powers,
Or a princess
With a crown of gold.
I could be whatever I wanted.
Now at school I pretend to be
Mormon
So I won't be alienated.
Now I pretend at home that I'm
Extra patient
So I can cope with my ADD brother.
Now at community gatherings I pretend I'm not an
Athiest
So that they don't try and 'save' me.
Now when I'm talking to friends I pretend that I can't
Hear
Their biased and close-minded opinions,
So that I have friends.
When I'm alone I no longer pretend I'm a
Princess
Or a fairy.
I pretend that I'm in a place where pretending is
Nothing more than a painful memory,
Because
I don't want to pretend any more....

I like it even if I do not have to pretend as much as you. However I do not have
very many friends. Therefore in that respect I get your point. As for conversion attempts just let them try.
