Gone like the Air Within Them

Gone like the Air Within Them

A Poem by PandaPeaceful

The softest of melodies played,
ringing in the ears of the vanished.
Like a flood of complete extinction,
their voices flew with terrible flaw.

But the world was evaporating,
and slowly their voices disappeared.
The once fragile tone,
was caught in the stained stream.

Flying and soaring above the oceans,
they saw the island of the forgotten.
'Where were they?'
'Those who once breathed below us?'

Gone they were,
like the air before us.
They had screamed and struggled,
their feet curling in utter despair.

Begging for mercy and shouting in pain,
they talked of their family and cursed in vain.
'Let me go!' they squirmed.
But as they clenched their teeth,
and prayed for god,
their breaths remained gone,

Gone like the air within them.

Somehow I feel a teared family, loud voices of fights and fights... where the sweet soft tones of maybe their children? disappear in the ongoing raging tune, until it's too late they will know it worths nothing... fading through air, interesting piece my friend, Thank You for sharing.
