Tiger's eye

Tiger's eye

A Poem by Silvanus Silvertung

You make me want to throw my mask away my love Crush it underfoot and crack it like an ancient china bowl. Blast my way through the stone face I face outward Lust openly at your untempered soul. What is it about the split between my struggle, that you walk without pause Makes me mash against the grace that is my birthright In favor of the beast within? You make me want to be a bull in a china shop Breaking beauty left and right and trampling it underfoot. I want to be the fire that singes my eyebrows Roaring my boxy delight at the woods. Can I consume you? Accrue enough knowledge of your mind to see Promethean fire Set you alight and watch sparks fly? You make me want to be bold my brightheart To step on ice, knowing it can’t break. I want to be loud, like an amplified roar. Creation coupled with the urge to unmake. And then when I’m with you, you value so high That I’m left with my caution, a curtain between You’ll never know me as long as I hide But you make me want to show the fire inside.
