A Brillant BlushA Poem by mysticgmekeeprFalls brilliant blush is dancing across the edges of the remnants of spring. They converse in the wind, and dangle on twigs holding holidays ornaments; ruby, burgundy, gold and green... Swinging there flaunting splendor; like a gaudy street walker bidding a passerby’s attention. I stand still and watch and wonder, emerging from the woods I hear a sound like no other , the golden hum that whispers through the transforming leaves, where they do their dance of shimmer and light for my benefit. I breathe slowly and know I inhaled the breath of God. As the tops of the trees exchange their secrets and promises against wing and feather, each leaf and vein a corridor for enlightenment, each season ushering in a revelation and a tribute to the myth of death. Buckets of blood red faith have sung and set the tops of these trees ablaze before the chill of sweet serenity falls gathering her white blanket tight beneath them... This Indian summer runs warm across my bones like a childhood memory and sets the woods on fire Before the bluebird flies and snows gather. © 2010 mysticgmekeepr |
