Secrets & Lies

Secrets & Lies

A Poem by mysticgmekeepr

Tromping on the leaves of dreams;
squelching the tiny buds of morning faith.
Deception heavy with dew and damage
by its very nature fosters destruction and separation.
Partitions rise quickly under the anvil of lies,
and the intimacy of trust lies shattered in the noonday sun,
the innocence of belief betrayed as the twilight of
suppertime creeps over the earth .
Boundaries are laid out in silence,
as unconscious fingers map out
the forward trajectory of a relationship
that is moving on the tracks of secrecy and deceit.
Two unaware souls traveling
A hundred miles an hour asleep in a coach of separation,
wrapped tightly in sheets of secrecy
strangled by the threads of  shame,
traveling through the night on a runaway train.
No wound is ever as deep as the lie
we attempt to hide it in.

the saddest thing to me is that so often the deception is unnecessary and someone is standing there willing to love you as you are, wounded, lame, walking with a limp and your warts all shinning in the light....but still we hide who we are, still we choose to sneak and lie and live under a cloud of shame that builds walls and fosters separation. Truth is a terrifyingly beautiful thing isn't it?

thank you for writing this...many who pass this way will be forced to take note, something like being caught in the searchlight...
