Nothing Less Will Do..........

....It is hard to be you in this world, to spin your own bright star.
But harder still to fill someone elses shoes or dreams.
We express our individuality so much better as small children, less socialized and constrained by convention. We are freer then to wail our existence onto our environment.
But with each passing year, like candles being blown out on our cake, we seem to relinquish a little more of who we started life out as....the clean slate of our potential having been scribbled all over by rules and others wishes....and then we spend the second half of our lives letting the helium out of the worlds inflated lies, uncovering and reclaiming our stones of individuality...
For nothing less will do.
We find that life must be lived in deeper places than it’s society’s structure, its mix of right and wrong, ever changing and always ill defined by culture and faith. Life must be lived deeper than its surface dance of frivolity and horror. Puncturing the minutia with the spikes of a rabid curiosity....an abstract longing to know you, to know me. Not your mother’s dream, my instructor’s hope, some long ago teacher’s prize, or some religion’s ideal.
Yes, it is hard to be you in this world. To purchase your uniqueness with coins of lost approval, with isolation and loneliness, ridicule and blame. But in the end it is worth whatever price you must pay for nothing short of your authenticity will be accepted by the universe, as your gift . Yes, we must grab hold and spin our own bright star through space and time in the end, for
Nothing less will do.
