We Dance

We Dance

A Poem by mysticgmekeepr

Winter has been long,
heavy and extended like a ladder;
its lessons deep and reaching.
Pricking thought with a thorn
from a rose remembered
as well as a new one being created
from two faithful strains.
We take our daily steps tentatively
through the land mines
of each others minutia;
two solitary shared rhythms.....
We thaw into a smile,
our frostbitten hearts begin to melt
under the weight of shared wounds
and frozen toes tap,
stars are earned on life charts
for elementary accomplishments
and the movement toward spring
pushes us on to middle school,
brushing with an awkward kiss,
a quick adolescent strip tease
losing the thin slip of imagination,
dizzy,
we dance.

Two becoming as one
As young love blossoms
Into a beautifully blooming rose
Sweet fragrance gracing all
Willing to have an open mind and soul.

These are the words, which came to my mind, when reading this poem. Breaking artificial barriers impose upon society by those with a limited view on life.
