aren't I too old now
for the unchartered depths?
surely I would succumb to the bends
at this stage.
aren't I too tired really,
to venture where the young risk takers go.
the long hours and sleepless nights
might be too much, I have gone so many times before
why now ?
On the edge, head bowed,
flinging my flesh with arms outstretched,
sacrificial abandon,
I feel fingers pierce the icy surface.
Diving still,
seeking the treasure of the depths.
Can I rise one more time
with a fistful of pearls?
your write touches the soul,
like following the rainbow but never catching up..
a wise man write you have composed,a fistful of pearls,
you hold as if it were the treasure of life and times,
as the young waste theirs on chances gone by.
you wonder as a we wonder how do fool survive,
but like the sun must feel after setting on a confused life,
Can I rise one more time
with a fistful of pearls? u are inspirational,,wizthom
a verse standing to paint a visual ....while engraving something spiritually stoic
excellent...
"On the edge, head bowed,
flinging my flesh with arms outstretched,
sacrificial abandon,"
I love the query ....
I feel fingers pierce the icy surface.
Diving still,
seeking the treasure of the depths.
Can I rise one more time
with a fistful of pearls?"
your write touches the soul,
like following the rainbow but never catching up..
a wise man write you have composed,a fistful of pearls,
you hold as if it were the treasure of life and times,
as the young waste theirs on chances gone by.
you wonder as a we wonder how do fool survive,
but like the sun must feel after setting on a confused life,
Can I rise one more time
with a fistful of pearls? u are inspirational,,wizthom
Indeed you can! Go for it dearest friend... Yes, for one's eyes to glow again with the sheen of pearls.... What is experience for, if not to know how to cunningly avoid the bends, and still... come up with a handful of pearls?
Beautiful, you were right, I love this poem.
I am a woman and a child, an adolescent in an older persons shell, an ancient in a child's disguise, a mystery and a metaphor, opposites and contradictions, swirling waters and peace. more..
