As You Willed

As You Willed

A Poem by mysticgmekeepr

As You Willed

You spread yourself out for me
   like a feast.
At the banquet table I ate and I drank
   and I consumed you.
Gluttonous,
   Ravenous,
      Skeletal and underfed ,
Like an ill-mannered urchin
   scavenging for bread...
I took all that was laid out.
I ate it,  and I spread the left overs on me
    like warm dripping butter,
over frail bones to ward off  the cold.
The tender fillet of love
that had escaped my empty table for a lifetime
prepared with an invitation to come and be filled...
So I ate and I drank and I consumed you,
    as you willed.

This is delightful and at the moment has me inwardly smiling to myself for it is not unlike things that I have penned. Again thank you for something delightful and for gracing my day.

This is written so fantastically! It's fresh and paints such a wonderful picture. Great use of metaphors thoughout. You let the reader know how famished you were in an artful way! Love it. I'm saving this to my favorites.
