Leaf Peeping Season

The scent of summer

still lingers on night air,

magenta and gold leaves

beg to differ the reasoning, 

Japanese Maple enthusiasts

will soon be leaf peeping,

defining season's yearning

'tween changing paradoxes, 

as the world spins betwixt

warmth's sensibilities 

and chilling sensations, 

yet, celestial moon and sun are 

evermore in perfect accordance

amidst earthly phenomenons

Beautifully written!! Although the transition from Hot to Cold turns me inside out, the beauty of the Earth's transition is worth the cold months that follow Autumn.

damn leaf peepers! ...;) just kidding ... first five lines are wonderful .. and one does prefer the warmth and cling to it as long as possible .. i told my beloved just today that i have reached that point in which i look forward to our first snowfall ... strong closing with hats off to Mother Nature's ever cycling :)

This is such a warm refreshing tone of poetry. It's got a pleasantness about it that comes with the connection to the gradual change of nature all around us. You connect the dots for all of us spread so apart. All fitting in some sort of loop, becoming the cogwheel that keeps the gears of the earth moving forward.
