Reality's Illusion

Reality's Illusion

A Poem by 1VJ

Tread softly on dreams,
for they are the reckoning
of what has heretofore transpired,
and that which will ultimately
discern reality's altered illusions

Mm, such thought-bending renderings of wisdom dance and flow throughout this one, Dear Paloma, gifting the mind, heart, and soul a bit of mysteriousness that dreamscapes invoke and pursue with fantastical imaginings.
Where would we be, Fine Poetess, what would we have, without the creativity of our endlessly imaginative dreams, without such amazing poems as this to wrap us in the unfolding universes of dream wonderment⁓*

You've blessed and swept me … warmest hugs, Paloma! ⁓ Richard

I was thinking about "discern reality's altered illusions".... we need our dreams, our hopes for something far far better than what we face now... and it seems that dreams do affect reality both the illusions we hold but also the possibilities of changing reality if we work on making dreams come true and they are aligned with the way that reality actually works... for example birds, no matter how hard they may dream cannot give birth to crocodiles, but humans can if they work on overcoming obstacles can soar to the heavens...

so yes, do not crush dreams, instead live to make them real... sorry used way too many words to express that I enjoyed your poem... it was a treat to read and think about Paloma..

Dreams are the only things that fashion reality; without dreams and aspirations we would cease to grow and be stuck in the status quo of our lives forever. Not every moment of our lives are dreamed, but the difference is that fate (not quite the right word) is done unto us--we follow and do our dreams.

"Tread softly on dreams..." a perfect admonition for those who would stomp on ours...

Thanks J.K. happy you got where I was going with this one.
A profoundly voiced journey across the illusions of life, and the deeper spaces of dreams, awakening and swallowing reality whole. So powerful.

This is my favorite poem of yours, which sadly means I have read them all so you will have to either post more or get to work writing :~)

I would like to offer the same editing critique I did on one of your other poems, the sentence structure effects the flow.

Tread softly on dreams
for they are the reckoning
of what has heretofore transpired
and that which will ultimately
discern reality's altered illusion

Thanks, very kind of you! Yes, they do tend to get confusing, but only if we're lucky enough. :)
