The Allure of Autumn Trees

As sizzling skies of summer

dispensed its heat through hills,

October launched its chilly reign

exchanging heat for chills.  

Majestic trees of birch, in sway,

along the distant trail,

released a mass of florid leaves

that mounted in the dale.  

Each silent, spinning parasail,

rotating through their whirls,

nose-dived as a regiment

plunging down in twirls.  

Yet if a blitz of bitter snow

will always make its stance,

winter flakes cannot replace

my autumn tree romance.

I love the ebb and flow and how every line feels like I'm a tree just rocking back and forth in the wind. It's so calming and crisp. Excellent choice of diction throughout, made me feel like I was reading Wordsworth come back to spend one last day about the forests. Favoriting to read again on a chilly autumn day!
