Ki Ken Tai

Ki Ken Tai

A Poem by Pakino
"

Ki Ken Tai is the basics of Kendo (martial art)

"

Move with one

Move with the mind

Strike with your might

To rejuvinate the soul

Ki Ken Tai

Mind, Sword, Body

A beautiful celebration

Of complete perfection

Mind,  such fragile limbs

Yet with discipline it is

Like a Iron Wall

An army of thousands cannot lay siege

For the will of the mind is sharper then steel

Sword the sprit of your soul

The embodiment of your character

A rusted blade a polished heart

A gold hilt a lusty heart

Come with honor, leave with pride

Body the physical action

The source of change

A relection of your mind and soul

Movements are Life

Solitude is Peace

Motionless is Death

Know your surroundings and stride

With confidence

Move with one

Move with the mind

Strike with your might

To rejuvinate the soul

Author's Note

Pakino
Ki Ken Tai is the basics of Kendo. Essentially in Kendo everything revolves around this principle. Everything is synchronized. The poem explains the idea in detail, I hope everyone understand this idea and perhaps can replicate it in their lives.

This is amazing! I especially loved the part

"Movements are Life

Solitude is Peace

Motionless is Death"

I got a very peaceful and kind of centered feeling from this, and I've read it twice so far, and it's also very visual.

Thanks for this :)

pretty and metaphysical. the completion is the highest art of healing. You stated well. Poetically spectacular piece and a desirable meditation on human hearts.

also, thanks for your comment/review on my love senryu. much appreciated. nice, when we read each other soon again. be well.

I like it, it made me think and I love it when poetry and any writting for that matter makes me think. I would hope I live my life by these principles because they sound like something to stride for

I understood what you were saying right off. I think you did a good job of explaining the details and how they relate life. It would be great if people did replicate this into their lives. It's actually an important concept if you really read it and understand the meaning. I understand the relationship between the mind, sword and body as my hubby does some work with this and I really wanted my son to get into it, to help him learn and grow. (In this case I think perhaps the pen is mightier than the sword.) Good write. :)

Hey, this is well done. Honestly, this poem reminds me of fencing... but I was just watching the iCarly episode with Freddy fencing... anyway, this is well done, and I think you've caught the essential feeling of Fi Ken Tai in this poem/literary work.
