River

About ignorance and about trying to change, but cannot since you are to caught up.

Our mind flows like a river

Endlessly, entirely, breathlessly

Life gets swept within the current, unknowingly

And we try to search within the waters

 

Tainted we hold on to our life

Fear grips us as we try not to fall within its grasp

We rush out of the river and onto the earth

Peace

No

Coward

 

The earth is soft

The grass is firm

But the river still flows

Dancing, Twirling, Playing

 

Desire clings to your heart

Your sprit confused

To be a river

Grips your soul

 

You try to jump within however

A dark shadow holds dear to the earth

It binds you

Ripping your hope away from your mind

 

Tears slide down

As you realize

That all is to late

 

Covered by ignorance

You have now sealed your fate

To never enjoy the cool brisk water

On your face

You had me deep in thought from the first line. This is excellent writing.
There is one little typo you may want to fix. In the second to last stanza, it should read too late, not to late.
I think my favorite stanza is the one that speaks of hope being ripped away from the mind. It called to mind a time when that happened, precisely. Most anyone can identify with these thoughts you have shared. Thank you so kindly for sharing them here. Bravo.
