I Shouldn't Have

I Shouldn't Have

A Poem by Pajci
"

A poem I've written for the heck of it. I had the inspiration, so why not?

"
I stand here
Listening
To your confession of love

Your words, so beautiful
They cradle my thoughts
A smile tugs

The deep meaning behind each
And every word

The way they flow from your tongue
They way you can make warmth
Burst from within me

The love you give reddens my cheeks
Wets my eyes and chokes my breathe

And so I stand here
Hidden by the wall
Clutching my heart

Having overheard something
I shouldn't have

Hmm...well I wrote this in the middle of the night, so I don't know if it's good or not. I got the inspiration for this poem while I was washing the dishes, haha. Great isn't it? Oh, the places that inspiration will decide to jump on you...

I don't know if it was meant to have this meaning, but what I read and feel in this poem at the beginning until the end is a love that is superficial but feels real. You believe that you are loved and feel that you are loved only to overhear the one you love and expressed his love saying something that contradicts the love expressed and felt. Maybe it's just me that got a different meaning out of the poem. But the end of the poem, ends dramatically. It leaves with almost the same feel you would get if you were actually in the situation described. I like the fact that the poem brings out emotion and tugs at the heart. If another interperation was meant, Please do share what the true meaning of the poem is. I would love to know. I liked your style.

Even though the words he said blew away like wind as summer turning to autumn, there is truth in this, a sad truth but a truth nonetheless. I'll review the other one when I have time and finish the story of a dragon.

You should do the dishes more often.
