purple rose

purple rose

A Poem by KairifulSorrow
"

i wrote this for my friends cousin, who will never come home. i miss him dearly and i wish i could see him again...

"

I remember the first day I met him,
so innocent and careless.
He welcomed me into his arms the second time.
He showed me that he cared with a single white rose,
A day later he stopped seeing me,
Days turned to a week.
That rose was dying, along with my love for him.
The day I gave up, I walked home and there was a purple rose.
A note on the stem.
My heart racing and breathing fast.
‘Baby, I love and I just can’t tell you. They stationed me away from my home, and took me away from you. Keep me in your memory and I will always be by your side.’
I dropped to my knees and hugged the rose and it smelled so sweet and yet so sickly.
I put it in a vase, near the window for him to come home.
A week later it died, along with the man I love…
