Taunting ThoughsA Poem by PaigeA short poem.
Here I lay,
Quiet as a mouse, Still when the silence shivers, Around this cold empty house. Tied down by an inhibitor, Anxiety and depression grows, Grows alongside the number of tears on my cheek, This at the same rate my heart slows. My brain is teasing me, Taunting thoughts circulate, Breathing slows down, What is this strange twist of fate? Taunting thoughts you wonder, What these entail, Where darkness follows you closely, Into a deadly woodland trail.
