THE STORY OF TWO DADS

THE STORY OF TWO DADS

A Poem by ~Paedams
"

This poem displays the choices of absentee dads and the consequences thereof.

"

Two dads are an blessing many rarely experience

Usually one is there and the other absent.

You love one and do not expect to love the other

One is your bloodline and one is with your mother.

You defiantly say "I have only one dad"

You can only love one and as for the other one too bad.

As you grow and the other sticks around

You began to love and respect him and realize he's not a clown.

As for the one who was left behind

Your love and hate for them borders a very thin line.

You ask why they chose to put you on a shelf?

Their answer is I could not work it out with you mom and I just left.

Then you ask what about me?

They answered I knew when you were older you would come see me.

Well things do not always work out as they should

A child hears things and come to the conclusion you are no good.

You are not around to tell them different

You rather them guess than explain the truth.

Before you know it, they have given you the boot.

As time passes the dad with mom

Becomes the chosen and you are left with no one.

When you are older who will make sure the Doctors are treating you right?

Who will check on you during the night?

When the day comes and your life is at an end

At your funeral will this child attend?

This depends soley on you

The impact you have had on this child's life

Is the difference between life and death

Will they be by your side when you take your last breath?

These are questions not to humiliate you

This is merely the summation of the truth.
