Dawn

Lush flowers bloom

Amid mammoth trees

Cradles

For the woodland birds

Whose feathers glimmer, glorious

A display of divine design.

 

A shy gilded sun

Peeks above mountains blue

Still darkened by the remnants

of Night's embrace

Perrywinkle

splattering the sun-tinged sky

 

A dove coos

Welcoming the brilliant orb

Coaxing her to join the clouds

Beautiful hesitance

Peaceful weariness illuminated

The Heavens alight.
