Thank You, GodA Poem by PadfootBlackJust taking a bit of time of appreciate... well, EVERYTHING...
Thank You, God For the gravel that crunches under my feet For the toad that hops out of my way For Your whisper in that gust of wind That sweeps up my hair, and steals a breath of mine away. Thank You, God For blueberry skies Pumpernickel splattered with blazing pink, Deep crimson And vivid ginger Residuals of the rising sun Thank You, God For the green that I see From the long, wooden trunks Of the Redwood Trees Stiff, proud, and powerful To the littlest of your flowers, A gentle bud not yet bloomed Frail form waving in your gentle breeze Thank You, God For the owl’s sleepy hoot For the finch’s bright greeting For the cricket’s call For the orchestra You’ve assembled today And oh, the music You play… Thank You, God, for opening blind eyes and causing deaf ears to hear. © 2010 PadfootBlackAuthor's Note
